James H. LeVan Papers (1922-1992) 1922-1992.

The collection contains some Lehigh University class notes and syllabi, and a notebook of material as Class Correspondent for the Class of 1926. The rest of the material concerns his career in the U.S. Public Health Service. Papers he wrote, notebooks of material regarding promotions and assignments, and his retirement files, and scrapbooks are included. The collection was donated to Lehigh by his son, James, in 1994. Other material donated at the same time is being processed by the Acquisitions department.

James H. LeVan was born in 1905, graduated from Minersville, Pa. High School in 1922, and Lehigh University in 1926. He received a MS degree from Harvard in 1931. He had a distinguished career as a Sanitary Engineer with the United States Public Health Service from 1931 to 1969. He was an Alumni Class Correspondent for Lehigh from 1945 to 1992.
